S460MC cold forming steel sheets and plates are low-alloy, high-strength steels used for cold forming. Their chemical make-up consists of ≤0.12% Carbon (C), ≤0.025% Phosphorus (P), ≤0.015% Sulfur (S), ≤2.10% Manganese (Mn), ≤0.50% Silicon (Si), and ≤0.20% Vanadium (V) to provide increased strength and weldability. Mechanical properties include a minimum yield point of 460 MPa, tensile strength of 520-720 MPa, and elongation of 16% (for thickness ≤3mm) or 14% (thickness >3mm). Such properties ensure high strength, excellent formability, and resistance to impact, thus S460MC is an ideal option for structural and automotive applications.
