SA 283 Grade C plates and sheets are low-carbon steel with a carbon content of 0.24% max, manganese content of 0.90% max, phosphorus content of 0.030% max, and sulfur content of 0.030% max, which provides them with good weldability and formability. Their mechanical properties are tensile strength of 380-515 MPa minimum, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of 20% (in 200mm), which makes them suitable for structural and general fabrication uses.
